“My work represents an exploration of house and boat forms as a metaphor for human experience and my own journey through time, chance, and change. One of the most prevalent themes in the sculpture is one of overcoming adversity, picking up the pieces, and getting on with life. I draw on personal events, observation, and myth. Cultural references within the work tie to growing up in Louisiana as well as living in and traveling through parts of Europe and Africa.”
