Arkansas sculptors and artists are invited to enter the fourth annual Bernice Garden Sculpture Project.
Bernice Garden, 1401 S. Main St., Little Rock, consists of landscaped areas with a crushed granite foundation for the artwork. Next to the sculpture garden is a concrete patio, benches and 20 parking spaces. The sculpture exhibition is part of a multi-staged development plan of the garden.
The competition is open to all artists/teams residing in Arkansas and working in any discipline or media.
Sculptures must be able to stand up to the elements and should be maintenance-free. Artists/teams are responsible for all construction, delivery, installation, and removal of artwork. The sculptures will remain in Bernice Garden for a year.
Up to five sculptures will be considered, and each artist/team will be considered for one artwork only. The budget must include all design fees, materials, construction, installation, removal, maintenance and liability insurance.
Artists selected will receive $2,800 per artwork with an additional design fee of $200 for the finalists’ development of a model for the proposal. The artists/teams retain ownership of the artwork.
The call for entries is open until 5 p.m. April 20. Artists/teams who have previously placed work at the Bernice Garden should wait four years before submitting a new proposal.
