About the Bernice Garden

Privately-owned by Anita Davis and intended for public use, The Bernice Garden is located at the southeast corner of South Main Street and Daisy Bates Avenue in downtown Little Rock. The garden was created to celebrate the community and hosts events to foster interaction and a sense of pride in the neighborhood.

The 150 ft. x 150 ft. garden consists of landscaped areas with a crushed granite foundation for artworks.  In addition to the sculpture garden is a concrete patio covered with a sustainable, lighted pergola that catches rainwater and funnels it into a cistern.  What is collected is then used to water native plants, herbs, ornamental grasses, and annual and perennial flowers.  Other amenities include benches where people can reflect, relax and reconnect, and approximately 20 parking spaces, which are free and on-site.

The garden features permanent and revolving sculptures created by Arkansas sculptors and artists.  In addition to the sculpture exhibition are mosaics, rock formations, the hand-crafted sign and additional art installations, all of which are part of a multi-staged development plan for the space.

The garden may be reserved for events by calling Liz Sanders at 501-617-2511 or emailing bernicegarden@gmail.com. The sculpture exhibit is sponsored by The Bernice Garden Sculpture Scholarship Fund.
